Product Enhancement

AI Data

  • We changed the connection setup flow in AI Data so the configuration dialog only opens when users explicitly click the Connection button inside the chat window.
  • We renamed the AI Data source step to R Script with AI Data and updated step tokens to display original user prompts. Users can now clearly identify AI-generated steps and review their original instructions directly within the data pipeline.

Summary View

  • We added a default view preference allowing users to choose between Summary and Table views upon data import. Users importing large datasets can now start immediately in Table view without waiting for summary statistics to compute, improving responsiveness.

Data Source

  • CSV: We improved CSV import behavior by detecting column count mismatches between the header and data rows. Users can now see warnings or automatically fill missing column names instead of silently merging trailing columns.
  • Excel: We added an option to convert columns to the hms (time) data type directly from the dropdown menu in the Excel import dialog. Users can now set the time type upon import without converting files to CSV.
  • FRED: We added a ‘Default’ connection option for the FRED data source that utilizes Exploratory’s built-in support API key. Users without their own FRED API key can now immediately access and analyze FRED data without extra configuration.
