On May 18, 2026, we released Exploratory Desktop v15.1! ![]()
This release fixes several important issues, including the “File already exists” error that occurred in v15.0 and the performance degradation when re-importing SQL data.
Please upgrade to the latest version and give it a try!
Please see below for details on the issues that have been fixed.
Issue fix
Install
- Users encounter a “File already exists” error immediately after upgrading to v15 or when opening existing projects, which can block access to the application.
Data Source
- A redundant catalog loading process caused the UI to freeze for up to a minute during SQL re-imports on complex projects. This fix optimizes the loading logic to ensure the application remains responsive and recalculation starts without delay.
- SQL data re-import speed has significantly decreased from 5 seconds to over a minute following the v15 upgrade.
- When a data re-import fails due to an error in a subsequent step, the application displays a confusing error dialog that references the wrong operation.
Chart
- The “X” button on the filter dialog occasionally fails to close the window.
- The boundary line blinks excessively when dragging filters or steps, particularly at the chart or analytics level.
- The filter dialog fails to open on the first click if it was previously closed without any input, requiring a second click to respond.
Note
- Clicking the “Edit Name” menu option for a note incorrectly opens both the rename dialog and the note editor simultaneously.
- Users may encounter an empty note immediately after upgrading to v15, though the content reappears after restarting the project.
