Recently, Github changes their security policy and Github Data Source fails with the below error message:
Bad credentials. The API can't be accessed using username/password authentication. Please create a personal access token to access this endpoint: http://github.com/settings/tokens
If you see this you need to create a security token and update the Github Data Connection password with the new personal access token in Exploratory Desktop
How to generate a new Github personal access token
- Sign in to Github
Select Settings from your profile menu
- Select Developer Settings
- Select Personal Access Tokens.
Click Generate new token and remember the token.
Updated the Github Data Connection in Exploratory Dekstop.
Open Exploratory Desktop, and open Data Connection Dialog then click the Edit button.
